Our Saturday Strikers programme introduces football to both boys and girls aged 4-11 years*. Children are divided into age groups and instructed by our highly skilled FA qualified coaches. We recognise every child is different and engage all at levels and allow children to develop at a pace that suits. We create a fun environment to learn and improve through structured practice, fun drills, skills and techniques.
*Our programme focuses mainly on Reception - Year 4 pupils, so if your child is older please make contact to ensure that we can offer your child a place to support their footballing ability and needs.
Saturday Strikers is absolutely brilliant. It’s a great introduction to football and will teach your child core football skills that are often ignored –control of the ball. The sessions are extremely well run and the coaches challenge the children in a fun, friendly and safe environment.
- PARENT, SW14 LONDON (May 2017)
Each week we will challenge the individual to build confidence and self-assurance, both on and off the pitch, by enhancing core skills through play and practice. We aim for all children to improve and build their basic footballing ability. How to shoot, pass, defend, attack, dribble and improve their speed and coordination. A child needs to establish a foundation of understanding and experience before they can move on to the more challenging techniques.
We always begin with a fun warm up which include ball control techniques. Technical and skill development will follow; and to finish, match play, giving children the opportunity to showcase their newly acquired skills!
At the end of all sessions we award ‘Player of the Day’, ‘Goal of the Day’ and ‘Goalkeeper of the day’ with a certificate; and once the term is concluded we will look to award medals and trophies.
I love Saturday Strikers! The coaches are really fun and we love playing matches to win the World Cup! I count the amount of sleeps till Football each week.
